This young lady came into town hall and purchased her Peddler and Itinerant Merchants License. Her license will expire August 22, 2025. She is here from Latvia, Europe doing a summer exchange program. Here’s what she is up to, in her own words: “I will be going door to door meeting up with families in Colorado helping with education! These include:
1) Study guides to help kids with school, save time doing homework & tests and eliminate frustration.
2) Fun and educational kids books for little ones to give them a head start with learning.
3) Learning materials to excel in AP classes and prepare for ACTs and SATs.
4) Family Bible Library to help kids grow spiritually and build character through biblical stories & prayers.
5) World class leadership program called LEAD that helps build skills that are not taught in classroom.
I DO NOT represent nor am I affiliated with any of the schools.
It is my summer internship and this is the way that I get to pay my way through college.
I do have a bit of an accent, so please do not be intimidated! If I knock on your door and you are not interested, I will thank you for your time & leave you in a good mood!”

Conference room with empty chairs and microphones arranged around a large meeting table, overlaid with a bold red stamped graphic reading “BOARD VACANCY.” At the bottom is the Town of Springfield, Colorado logo.
Last night August 14, 2025, at the regular Board of Trustees meeting for the Town of Springfield, the board formally accepted the resignation of Mayor Tyler Gibson.
Tyler has always exemplified what it means to be involved. Whatever the Town of Springfield had going on, you could be sure that Tyler was there—ready to lend a helping hand. Employees and residents alike found him approachable, dependable, and a shining example of democracy in action.
Even in his resignation, he remains a true son of the community that raised him—always focused on leading it toward the next great and right decision. These are all traits that will serve him well in his new role as County Judge for the Colorado 15th Judicial District.
While we are saddened to say goodbye to Mayor Tyler Gibson, please join us in congratulating Judge Tyler Gibson as he begins this next chapter of his life.
The board has officially declared a vacancy and letters of interest are due by September 2, 2025. In the meantime, please wish Interim Mayor Wittler the best of luck as he continues the legacy Former Mayor Gibson leaves behind.

🚨 Important Note for Springfield Residents 🚨 We have seen a sponsored ad going around from “Select-Justice” claiming that our local water supply is contaminated with toxic chemicals and that residents may be entitled to a cash settlement. ⚠️ Please be cautious — this ad appears to be misleading or fraudulent. Our local water department has confirmed that PFAs (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) are NOT present in the wells we use for our drinking water. 📌 It's also worth noting that similar posts targeting other cities have been shared by the same page, using nearly identical language. These types of posts are often created to collect personal information. Always verify health and safety claims with official sources like the Town of Springfield and our water department before responding to ads like these. Stay informed and stay safe!
