🔥 **Attention, Firestarters!** 🔥 Yes, this is a **burning permit**, but let’s be clear—it’s **not** a permission slip for questionable life choices. Just because you *can* burn doesn’t mean you should throw caution (or common sense) to the wind. Use it **responsibly, carefully, and with extreme caution**—because "Oops" isn’t going to put out a wildfire. 🌲🔥🚒 Stay safe, stay smart, and let’s keep the flames where they belong! 👀 For helpful burning reminders, check out the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department's Facebook Post on Controlled Burns. If you have read all of this and still think you need the General Burn Permit, it can be found at this link: https://5il.co/2z44r

We know we’ve already thanked the Electric Department, but now it’s time to give a big shoutout to the rest of our incredible crews! 👏 💪 Street Department – Thank you for working tirelessly to clear streets, remove downed limbs, reset operations at the airport, and respond to the needs of our citizens to keep our town safe and accessible. 🚰 Water Department – Thank you for checking the functionality of water wells and meter pits throughout town, ensuring everything is running smoothly despite the tough conditions. You helped prevent a bad day from becoming worse for many! 🚔 Springfield Police Department – Thank you for keeping traffic flowing safely despite the road closure causing quite the traffic jam. We appreciate the camaraderie and teamwork with the Baca County Sheriff's Office and our local CDOT crew — your combined efforts made a tough situation much more manageable. Above all, we appreciate everyone's flexibility and commitment — always stepping up when Springfield needs you most. We couldn’t do it without you! ❤️
